Volunteers play a vital role in supporting our schools and strengthening the connection between home and campus. Research consistently shows that parent engagement contributes to greater student success, making volunteer involvement more important than ever.

As Volunteer Chair, you serve as the link between school volunteers and the opportunities where their time and talents are needed most. From recruiting and coordinating volunteers to recognizing their contributions, you help build a strong support network that benefits students, teachers, and the entire school community.

Volunteering with Allen PTAs

If you would like to volunteer at any of the Allen ISD schools, you have to be a AISD approved volunteer.  The application is deactivated at the end of the school year, so it is important to reapply after July 1st to volunteer for that school year. It's easy to do. Click here to get registered!

Quick-Start Actions for a Volunteers Chair

• Work with the outgoing person in your position to obtain anything that can help you perform your duties.

• Review the Resource Guide and Online Course for detailed support and best practices.

• Develop a Plan of Work and submit it to the Executive Board for approval. View the Sample Plan of Work: English | Spanish.

• Ensure your PTA is enrolled in JoinPTA.org and that all profile information is accurate.

• Sign the Confidentiality, Ethics, and Conflict of Interest Agreement and submit it to the secretary.

• Complete mandatory FOUNDATIONS training including Essentials within 30 days of election or appointment.

 CITIZENSHIP AWARDS

Allen ISD Council of PTAs Citizenship Awards are given out to teachers, staff, parents, and community volunteers who give their valued time and effort to support our schools. These individuals are nominated by local PTAs because they go above and beyond what is expected and make a difference for our children.
