COVID-19 UPDATE: MARCH 17
Thank you all for your patience and trust over the last few days. We know so many of you want to be able to help, especially in regard to food and support to our students. Yesterday, the Allen Council of PTAs met with District leadership and Allen Community Outreach representatives to determine how we can best do that.
We are beyond proud of the support and love our District is providing all children (ages 1-18) with weekday breakfast and lunch. Please encourage anyone you know who needs a meal for their child to utilize this program. Again, you do need to bring your child(ren) with you, but no information is required to receive the food. This is for ALL children in Allen, ages 1-18. Click here for details on pick up location and times.
While we all want to be able to support our District with monetary, food and volunteer donations, unfortunately, the District is unable to accept these types of donations. So, what can we do?
Fortunately, our community has a wonderful support organization that is set up to help. Allen Community Outreach (ACO) has transitioned all support to focus 100% on emergency support. They offer two primary services: financial and food.
- Financial Services: Financial support to help those in need with rent, utilities, etc.
There are limited qualifications to receive this help. ACO is focused on helping families stay in their homes during this challenging time. For utilities, you must be a TXU or CoServ customer. If you need assistance, please contact ACO directly by visiting their website, www.ACOCares.org. - Food Pantry: Distribution style effort to provide food in a grab-and-go environment. You must be a resident of Collin County to benefit from ACO’s food pantry.
While there are many things we can do, we encourage you to make a donation (monetary or food) to ACO, or any other food bank of your choice. This is the best option for families in Allen, and the surrounding areas, to supplement the breakfast and lunch support from the District. Please visit www.ACOCares.org to make a donation or click here for a list of most-needed food items that can be dropped off.
We will continue working with the District to identify opportunities for help, support, and volunteering and we will inform you of those opportunities as they become available. Allen is the greatest community! We will get through this together.
Thank you,
Nina Felt

Help Support Students in Need
Allen ISD and the Allen ISD Council of PTAs have a strong partnership to ensure that every learner is empowered to realize their full potential. One of the greatest distractions from achieving this goal is food and general health items. There are students at every single school in Allen who could use our help and support.
Want to help? We have created Amazon wish lists of our greatest needs. We will update these throughout the year, but the links will stay the same. Shop and support knowing that the donations will go directly to Allen ISD students.
AISD SEL Program
Cheryl Loving presented the new Allen ISD SEL program (Social Emotional Learning) at the September Council Delegates meeting. Allen ISD’s SEL initiative aims to create a community of connection through relationships, building a culture of inspiration, fostering collaboration, and the integration of curriculum to promote self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. #AllenInspires
Citizenship Awards
Citizenship Awards are given out to teachers, staff, and parent volunteers that give their time and effort to support our schools. These individuals are nominated by local PTAs because they go above and beyond what is expected and make a difference for our children.
ALLEN ISD VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
Volunteers who work with AISD student groups and organizations will need to complete a volunteer application. These groups include, but are not limited to, PTA organizations, booster clubs, cheerleading squads, dance squads (athletic and fine arts) and any other AISD student organizations where adults will be working with students other than their own children at AISD sponsored events.
